Our Story

A Kirkburton Table

Norman's Restaurant started as a simple idea: create a neighbourhood spot where the food is honest and the atmosphere welcoming. Our team—Will, Oliver, Ted, and Neve—share a common goal of running a kitchen that serves the Kirkburton community.

We opened our doors to offer an alternative to formal dining and casual takeaways. Small plates let guests try several dishes, share with friends, and build their own meal. It's a format that suits how people want to eat today.

The name Norman's comes from our location and the history of this village. We're not trying to reinvent dining; we're trying to do it well in our own corner of West Yorkshire.

How We Cook

Our menu changes based on what's available locally and seasonally. We work with suppliers in West Yorkshire who share our standards. Small plates mean we can offer variety and keep things interesting for regular guests.

The kitchen focuses on technique and timing. Dishes are prepared to order, portioned for sharing, and plated simply. We don't complicate food that's already good.

Local Drinks

Our drinks list prioritises Yorkshire breweries, local distilleries, and wines chosen to pair with the menu. We rotate selections regularly and keep the team trained on what's pouring.
